William Aston Hall is based on the campus of, and is owned by, Wrexham University (we are operated by Theatr Clwyd).

They pride themselves on a commitment to widening access and social inclusion, ensuring that everyone who has the potential to achieve in higher education is given the chance to do so. They are the number one university in England and Wales for social inclusion and joint first in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022. That means that they believe in helping those who wish to access university study to do just that – regardless of barriers. 60.6% of their students are the first in their family to go to university.
They achieved university status in 2008, but have been delivering education at the main Wrexham campus since 1887. They currently have over 7,500 students enrolled, a number that continues to grow with their campus spaces, investments, and academic staff.
