Mozart is the greatest genius who has ever lived.
Haydn

Performed by the Heartwood String Quartet

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a megastar of classical music – famous from a young age, innovative and prolific, yet a man whose lavish lifestyle betrayed financial struggles, before his mysterious death aged just 35. His work influenced some of the greatest ever composers and is still influential in popular culture today.

Master follows the music influenced by Mozart’s later compositions. Discover how Mozart’s style had matured towards the end of his life and his mastery of writing for a string quartet. Alongside the work of his friend Haydn and teenage talent Mendelssohn, this concert promises vibrant musical themes, soaring melodies and innovative writing.

Programme includes:
  • HAYDN – Quartet Op.76 No.1
  • MENDELSSOHN – Quartet in E minor Op.44
  • MOZART – Quartet in F K.590
