We sat down with her to find out more about what to expect from her show…
We are so excited to have you at Wrexham Comedy Festival. Have you every performed in Wrexham/North Wales before?
I’ve watched Wrexham football team play - that’s sort of the same thing I imagine?!
What can we expect from your show?
The truth! The sleazy unadulterated truth. No its about trying to squeeze the joy out of life and also about dating (classic).
What has been your most memorable performance, whether good or bad, and why?
I loved doing the Late Late show in America because it’s the middle of the day but Americans are so into whooping and cheering and positivity - you’re really set up for a good gig. The only thing better than having a good gig is someone filming it so you have proof.
You are also a writer (What's That Lady Doing; False Starts and Happy Endings) and host a podcast (Cuddle Club with Lou Sanders) as well as doing stand up and tv. Do you have a favourite and how to you juggle them all.
I’ve stopped my podcast now as needed a break and now I’ve had a break, I’m on the look out to do a new one. I like the mix of doing it all. I think TV will always be my favourite as you get treated like a little baby / princess and everything’s done for you. No I like the camaraderie and the fact you all work together to create something. And I just love TV. Watching it, doing it, talking about it…
Then stand up is a bit more gruelling but I do love it and I love the immediacy of it and the fact you are learning all the time.
Earlier this year you were on Dancing on Ice, how did you find it and will you keep skating?
I am supposed to go next week for the first time since the show. The show was so fun to do - I mean it was stressful as its live, and on ice (obviously) I did expect that. But you don’t have long to learn your little dances. However, I did love learning something new, and the team there were so great and really fun! And my dance partner Brendyn was a hoot to boot.
Any advice to people wanting to get into comedy or are early on in their careers?
Yes, write and gig like it’s an obsession. It has to be an obsession!
And finally, what’s on the cards for the rest of the year/2025?
I’m working up my new show for a tour starting February 2025 and I think it’s going to be a lovely ‘piece’ ha. And hopefully some tv projects this year which are in development.
